WALMART INTEGRATION REVIEW

A focused path from product search to decision.

This page summarizes VisionSpoke’s proposed use of authorized Walmart affiliate catalog data and the safeguards already built into the service.

Business purpose

VisionSpoke helps shoppers turn a natural-language buying need into a short, understandable product decision. It asks product-specific questions, explains tradeoffs and presents a lower-cost SAVE option, a strongest-fit PICK and an UPGRADE whose additional cost must be justified.

Current application status

Walmart is selectable only in application-preview mode. That route uses clearly labeled VisionSpoke test products and does not request Walmart catalog data, display Walmart product links or generate affiliate tracking.

Requested Walmart capability

VisionSpoke intends to use Walmart’s Affiliate Marketing API for catalog search and product lookup. The service expects to use authorized fields such as product title, category, brand, description, image, price, availability, rating, review count and the qualifying product-tracking URL supplied by Walmart. Checkout remains entirely on Walmart.

Data flow

A shopper selects Walmart, enters a product need and answers relevant fit questions. VisionSpoke sends the product search—not a Walmart customer identity—to the authorized Walmart API. Returned product facts are screened for relevance, compared with the shopper’s stated needs and shown with retailer and data-confidence labels.

Retailer separation

Each search is bound to the shopper’s selected retailer. Walmart results will not be combined with eBay listings or VisionSpoke test products in the same result set. Provider checks reject an offer whose source does not match the selected retailer.

API and data safeguards

Walmart credentials and request-signing keys will remain server-side. VisionSpoke will use authorized API data rather than scraping Walmart.com, keep displayed product information current, avoid Walmart price-alert or price-history functionality and limit caching to the retailer’s permitted freshness requirements.

Recommendation and disclosure

Compensation is not a ranking input, and the recommendation is identified as VisionSpoke’s—not Walmart’s. After approval, each eligible Walmart destination will be presented as a paid link with an unavoidable nearby commission disclosure and a reminder that Walmart’s current price and availability govern.

Preliminary API-volume estimate

Initial planning assumes fewer than 500 Walmart search requests and 1,500 item lookups per day. VisionSpoke will use bounded results, short-lived caching, input validation and graceful fallback behavior to avoid unnecessary calls while keeping product information current.
